The Annual International Meeting Abstract Committee plays a key role in this process by reviewing and evaluating submissions that shape the scientific program. About the Role

The Annual International Meeting Abstract Committee is responsible for reviewing and evaluating abstract submissions for inclusion in the conference program.

Committee members participate in a structured, multi-phase review process that includes:

• Evaluating submitted abstracts for quality, relevance, and educational value
• Recommending abstracts for poster or podium presentation
• Participating in collaborative review discussions
• Supporting final selection decisions for conference programming

This structured process ensures that selected content reflects the highest standards of scientific quality and clinical relevance.

What You’ll Contribute

As a committee member, you will:

• Review and score assigned abstract submissions
• Provide thoughtful, objective evaluations of clinical and research content
• Identify high-quality submissions for presentation
• Participate in committee discussions and final selection decisions
• Help ensure fairness and consistency across the review process

Who Should Apply

We are seeking medical doctor members who:

• Have clinical, research, or educational expertise in breastfeeding and lactation medicine
• Are interested in reviewing and evaluating scientific or clinical content
• Are detail-oriented and able to assess submissions objectively
• Are comfortable contributing to collaborative review discussions
• Are committed to supporting a fair and consistent selection process

Time Commitment

• Participation in the abstract review period, including completion of assigned reviews within defined timelines

• Participation in a review meeting to finalize selections

• Collaboration via email or virtual discussions as needed

• Committee term: Two-year term, with the option to serve one additional two-year term for a maximum of four consecutive years

• Terms begin and end on the final day of the ABM Annual International Meeting.

The review process is structured around defined timelines and milestones leading up to the Annual International Meeting.
