ABM is committed to making high-quality breastfeeding and lactation medicine education accessible to healthcare professionals around the world.

The Spanish Translation Task Force will help expand access to ABM educational content by identifying, reviewing, and supporting the translation of selected Grand Rounds webinars into Spanish. This initiative will help reduce language barriers, strengthen global engagement, and increase the reach of evidence-based education for Spanish-speaking healthcare professionals.

About the Role

The Spanish Translation Task Force will support the pilot translation and adaptation of selected ABM Grand Rounds webinars into Spanish.

Task force members will collaborate to:

• Review existing Grand Rounds content and identify priority webinars for translation
• Support the translation and adaptation of educational materials
• Ensure translated content maintains clinical accuracy and educational quality
• Provide cultural and regional perspectives to support relevance for Spanish-speaking audiences
• Help develop a scalable model for future multilingual educational programming

The project focuses on translating selected webinar content and related materials from ABM's existing educational library to improve accessibility for Spanish-speaking healthcare professionals.

What You’ll Contribute

Depending on your role and expertise, you may:

• Participate in the selection of webinars for translation
• Translate webinar transcripts, subtitles, scripts, or supporting materials
• Review translated content for accuracy, readability, and cultural appropriateness
• Provide regional perspectives and feedback on language and terminology
• Help establish quality standards and review processes
• Support recommendations for future multilingual education initiatives

Who Should Apply

We are seeking medical doctor members who:

• Have Spanish and English language proficiency appropriate to their volunteer role
• Have experience in healthcare, education, research, translation, or professional communications
• Are passionate about global access to breastfeeding and lactation medicine education
• Value collaboration, cultural inclusivity, and educational quality
• Have an interest in supporting Spanish-speaking healthcare professionals and communities

Healthcare experience, familiarity with breastfeeding and lactation medicine terminology, translation experience, or experience working within Spanish-speaking communities is especially valuable for this initiative.

Time Commitment

Time commitments vary by volunteer role and assignment.

Examples include:

• Translation Task Force Chair: approximately 3–5 hours per month
• Bilingual Content Translator: approximately 5–10 hours per webinar
• Quality Reviewer: approximately 2–4 hours per webinar
• Regional Advisor: approximately 1–3 hours per month as needed
• Task Force term: Service is aligned with the pilot project timeline, which is anticipated to be approximately 12–18 months.
